About Lady Jessica McClary

Lady Jessica McClary is a native of Norfolk, VA. She matriculated through the Norfolk Public School System and graduated from Maury High School in 1993.  She went on to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science Degree with a Concentration on Human Services Counseling and a Minor in Psychology from Old Dominion University. Soon after, she pursued a Master’s Degree from Norfolk State University in Social Work.  She is currently pursuing her Licensure from the State of Virginia as a Clinical Social Worker.

In 2002, she married the love of her life, Darryl J. McClary.  They met in the halls of Maury High School and have dated since the age of 15.  They have 1 daughter, Madison Abrielle McClary, born in 2004.  They also have 3 god-children Deontre Williams, Zion Kendall Purvis-Allen, and Brooke-Lynn Kennedy Purvis-Allen. The family currently resides in Chesapeake, Virginia.

In November of 2008, Jessica McClary was elevated to the position of First Lady, when her husband accepted the call as the Pastor of New Light Baptist Church. Both Pastor and Lady McClary have been members of New Light Baptist Church for over 10 years. Lady McClary has served in numerous ministries over the years, including Chairman of Women’s Fellowship, singing in the Choir and Praise Team, and as a teacher in the Christian Education Department.

Lady Jessica currently serves as Director of the Pastoral Care Ministries. She believes that “Healthy Families create Healthy Churches” and seeks to holistically meet the needs of families within the Body of Christ.  Together, Pastor and First Lady McClary are striving to empower and develop believers in God’s Word.
